Unrolling your FloorclothIf your floorcloth has been rolled for shipping or storage please allow it to adjust to room temperature before unrolling. I recommend removing it from its storage container and leaving it rolled (in an out of the way area of the room) for 24 hours. Once it is at room temperature, unroll the floorcloth, place it in its location and allow it to flatten naturally. Do not bend or fold the floorcoth, as this can cause the paint to crack. Placing your FloorclothFloorcoths are designed for use over a hard surface. (Using a floorcloth over carpeted floors is not recommended due to probable cracking of the paint.) Prepare the area you have chosen for your floorcloth by vacuuming and damp mopping. This will eliminate any particles that could cause small bumps when viewing your floorcloth. Once the area is dry, place the floorcloth in its location. If furniture is to be placed on top it is recommended that the legs of the furniture have a protective pad to eliminate scratching. Cleaning your FloorclothCleaning and care of your floorcloth is similar to the care of vinyl or hardwood surfaces. Never use any abrasive cleaners as they may damage the surface. For everyday cleaning, sweep or vacuum the surface of the floorcloth and underneath the edges. Use a damp mop or sponge with warm soapy (any liquid dish soap is good) water to clean the surface. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap film. For stubborn stains, use a mixture of white vinegar and water (50/50) with a soft scrubbing sponge. I recommend that you wax the floorcloth 3-6 times a year, depending on use, to keep it protected. Use a thin coat of a good quality paste wax to keep your floorcloth in tiptop shape. Follow the manufacturer instructions for applying and buffing the wax. Storing your Floorcloth
If you find it necessary to store your floorcloth I recommend that
you do so by rolling the floorcloth-paint side out and place the
floorcloth in a tube or wrap in plastic. Store the floorcloth at
room temperature away from dampness. Follow directions for unrolling
when ready to use again. |
